Contact + Shared Identity = Reduced Prejudice

When people encounter one another beyond stereotypes, something changes. Assumptions become more difficult to maintain. Individual lives replace abstract labels. Shared interests become visible.

ActiveCitizen therefore uses storytelling as a form of contact at scale, bringing people and communities into public view in ways that make empathy, recognition and understanding possible.

Why this matters

Nigeria's diversity is one of its defining characteristics. But digital misinformation, historical grievances, political rhetoric, religious tensions and inherited stereotypes can turn difference into distrust.

ActiveCitizen does not respond by pretending these fault lines do not exist. Instead, we ask how Nigerians can acknowledge difficult realities without allowing those realities to become the entirety of our national story.
